Kirk comes to the Business Roundtable with more than 22 years of experience in the communications profession, during which he has worked with U.S. and international corporations, trade associations, non-profit organizations and government entities. As Director, Communications for the Business Roundtable, his primary responsibilities include managing and facilitating all media relations, as well as coordinating the organization's ongoing outreach efforts. Recently cited as "the most influential executive lobbying group in the U.S." by the Financial Times, Business Roundtable members are at the forefront of public policy, advocating for a vigorous, dynamic global economy. Prior to joining the Business Roundtable, Kirk was founder and principal of an award-winning, nationally-ranked public relations firm where he created and managed media and branding campaigns for leading trade associations and Fortune 500 corporations. Kirk has also held various positions at Ketchum Public Relations and Ruder Finn. Early in his career, Kirk served on the Washington, D.C. staff for U.S. Senator David Durenberger (R-MN.). Kirk has advised and served as media liaison to two Presidential Inaugural Committees, as well as consulted with the White House Office of Press Advance. Kirk holds various leadership positions in the Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators, the Publicity Club of New York, the University Club of Washington and the National Press Club. He has taught courses in public relations and marketing at George Washington University and The American University. Kirk received his B.A. from Elon University. |
