Bottom Line: America’s Business Leaders Continue Push for Immigration Reform

Following a week of encouraging comments from Speaker Boehner and President Obama on the prospects for immigration reform, the CEO members of Business Roundtable continue to make the case to Congress and the President to work together to find solutions this year:

“We agree with Speaker Boehner and the president that the time is now to fix our broken immigration system,” said Greg Brown, Chairman & CEO of Motorola Solutions, Inc., and Chair of Business Roundtable’s Select Committee on Immigration. “Our economy needs a boost, and immigration reform will help.”

At the same time, key aspects of reform are proving highly popular with the American public. In a CBS News poll, a strong majority of Americans – including large numbers of Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike – say they support finding a solution for undocumented immigrants in America.

As business leaders representing every sector of the economy, Business Roundtable members understand the importance of fixing America’s broken immigration system. Immigration reform, done right, will help keep America secure and is essential for a healthier economy – accelerating growth, encouraging hiring and creating American jobs.

Fixing America’s broken immigration system will help drive U.S. innovation, growth and job creation.
