Bottom Line: We Need Common Sense Immigration Reform Today

In a speech this week in Chicago, Doug Oberhelman, Chairman and CEO of Caterpillar Inc., and Business Roundtable Executive Committee member, called for ‘common sense’ immigration reform solutions that will enhance U.S. business:

“A workable, common sense solution is possible and something we welcome and support in the business community. By tackling the immigration issue on the scale we are discussing now, we will help make this country, this city, this state, and companies like Caterpillar more competitive.

“The environment is as competitive and as tough as it has ever been. Those competitors want to take our customers and our jobs. As a business leader, I’m going to do everything I can to compete and win … let’s not make it harder to compete by failing to make common sense immigration reform happen now.”

Fixing America’s broken immigration system will help drive U.S. innovation, growth and job creation.
