Business Roundtable Welcomes Senator Clinton's Focus on Health Care

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers whose companies represent more than 10 million employees and provide health care coverage for more than 35 million Americans, today issued the following statement regarding Senator Hillary Clinton's Agenda to Lower Health Care Costs and Improve Value for All Americans.

"Our members have long recognized that rising health care costs affect all individuals, employers and the government – impacting job creation and hurting the nation's competitiveness in the global economy," said John J. Castellani, President of Business Roundtable.

"We applaud Senator Clinton for championing affordable, quality health coverage for all Americans.- By calling attention to the issues of prevention, wellness, health information technology, medical liability reform and transparency – making health care cost and quality information more apparent – she has taken a bold step forward toward the creation of real solutions.

"We welcome her interest, as both a policymaker and a presidential candidate, in this critical issue and look forward to carefully reviewing her plan."
