Business Roundtable Welcomes Senator Obama to Health Care Debate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers whose companies represent more than 10 million employees and provide health care coverage for more than 35 million Americans and a founding member of Divided We Fail, a national effort with AARP and SEIU designed to engage the American people, elected officials and the business community to find broad-based, bi-partisan solutions to health care and long-term financial security issues, today issued the following statement regarding Senator Barack Obama's Plan for a Healthy America.

"Business Roundtable welcomes Senator Obama's entry into the health care debate with a plan to reform our nation's health care system," said John J. Castellani, President of Business Roundtable. "We believe that all Americans share the basic need for access to health care and that individuals, businesses, health care providers, non-profit organizations, and government must work together to find solutions. We are pleased that Senator Obama has used his platform as a member of Congress and as a presidential candidate to focus the nation's attention on this critical issue and we look forward to carefully reviewing his plan."
