Health and Retirement Business Leaders Reiterate Commitment to Employer-Sponsored Wellness Programs

May 16, 2016

Washington — Business Roundtable today released the following comment from Brian Moynihan, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America Corporation and Chair of the Business Roundtable Committee on Health and Retirement, pursuant to the release of the final rule on employer-sponsored wellness programs by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission:

“The wellness programs many leading employers have put in place are making progress in helping employees and their families be healthier and better understand potential risk factors.
“Companies will review the new guidelines with a view toward ensuring that these programs are able to continue to make a positive impact and that employees and their families continue to have access to the information and tools that can help them maintain good health.”

Adopting a smarter approach toward federal regulation is a key element in the Business Roundtable plan for stronger economic growth and job creation. For more information on these policy priorities, see www.BRT.org/growth
