Business Roundtable Statement on COVID-19 Relief Negotiations

Washington – Following the halt in bipartisan negotiations on additional and much-needed COVID-19 relief legislation, Business Roundtable issued this statement: 

“We are deeply troubled by the sudden halt of negotiations. Millions of American workers, families and businesses are suffering from the economic and health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and need the support of their government. Communities across the country are on the precipice of a downward spiral and facing irreparable damage.

“Failure to reach a deal on additional relief would worsen and prolong the crisis for our country. We call on the Administration and Congress to come back to the negotiating table immediately with a renewed sense of urgency to reach a deal that can pass the House and Senate and the President can sign into law.”
