Washington – Business Roundtable today issued the following statement from Joshua Bolten, President & CEO of Business Roundtable, following signature of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act into law:
“Signature of the CARES Act into law will provide essential funding for the public health care response and bring Americans much-needed economic relief. We applaud Republicans and Democrats in both chambers and the Administration for reaching this agreement on behalf of workers, employers and communities nationwide. Business Roundtable members stand ready to assist in any way to ensure this important new law is implemented swiftly and effectively.”
Earlier this week, ahead of Senate passage of the CARES Act, Business Roundtable released a statement calling for urgent passage of this legislation to provide direct financial support to individuals and families and to help small and medium-sized businesses and their employees, many of whom are suppliers and customers of Business Roundtable members.
