Washington – Business Roundtable today issued the following statement after President Biden signed an Executive Order (EO) on Promoting Competition in the American Economy:
“Business Roundtable supports market-based competition and free enterprise to enhance opportunity, innovation and productivity that benefits all Americans. We are concerned about the breadth of issues contemplated in and potential implications of the Executive Order that could undermine rather than enhance U.S. competitiveness,” said Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten. “U.S. companies are among the most competitive in the world and welcome efforts to facilitate fair market competition. To ensure they remain competitive and to encourage competition, U.S. companies and workers need a level playing field at home and around the world.”
