Washington - Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten today issued the following statement upon introduction of the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021:
“Business Roundtable strongly supports modernizing the immigration system to promote economic growth, reflect our values and keep Americans safe. We have long called for a permanent solution for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, including a path to citizenship, as is included in this legislation. We are also pleased to see provisions that would begin to address lengthy wait times for high-skilled immigrants caught in the green card backlog.
“We welcome the Biden Administration’s focus on immigration reform and look forward to working with the Administration and Congress to achieve bipartisan and practical solutions to fix our broken immigration system.”
