Business Roundtable Statement on Senate Passage of Continuing Resolution
Bolten Urges Congressional Action on Permitting Reform This Year
September 29, 2022
Washington – Business Roundtable CEO Joshua Bolten today released the following statement after the Senate approved legislation to fund the government:
“Business Roundtable welcomes Senate passage of legislation to fund government operations. Keeping the government open provides fiscal stability on which the U.S. economy relies.
“We are disappointed the Senate has not yet reached bipartisan agreement on permitting reform and urge Senators to find a path forward to ensure meaningful legislation is enacted this session.
“Permitting reform would enable us to build the infrastructure to produce and deliver more American energy, both from traditional and clean energy sources—increasing our energy independence, creating jobs and helping the U.S. meet its climate goals. There is real urgency to reforming the permitting system, and we urge Congress to do so this year.”
