Washington - Business Roundtable today issued the following statement on Senate passage of the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act of 2021:

“Business leaders welcome bipartisan support for U.S. innovation leadership and continued U.S. competitiveness at home and around the world. We are encouraged to see Senators successfully working together through a regular order process to pass bipartisan legislation,” said Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten.
“The legislation supports U.S. innovation by boosting R&D and investments for key strategic and emerging technologies and can help level the playing field for American businesses, workers and farmers. We thank Senators Schumer and Young for their bipartisan leadership and Chair Cantwell and Ranking Member Wicker for their work on the bill.
“Given the breadth of issues covered, important work on this legislation and counterpart legislative efforts in the House will continue. Business Roundtable looks forward to working with Congress and the Administration to further refine the legislation to support its objective of enhancing U.S. innovation and competitiveness.”
