Washington – Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten today issued the following statement upon the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s announcement that Chief Executive Officer Thomas J. Donohue is stepping down and will be succeeded by current President Suzanne Clark:

“For more than two decades at the Chamber’s helm, Tom Donohue has been American business’s premier advocate. Never shying away from a challenge, Tom has successfully navigated key policy debates for the benefit of businesses of all sizes and across all sectors. I’ll always be grateful for his leadership and partnership and am proud to call him friend.
“Suzanne Clark is a great choice to take the reins of the Chamber at this time. She brings an abundance of experience, integrity and grace to the role. Business Roundtable looks forward to continued close collaboration with the Chamber, under Suzanne’s leadership, on growing the U.S. economy and creating more opportunity for all Americans.”
