Trade Business Roundtable Statements on Enactment of USMCA Implementing Legislation

Washington – Business Roundtable today released the following statements regarding the enactment of H.R. 5430, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Implementation Act:

Tom Linebarger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Inc.: “Modernizing trade with our two largest trading partners benefits American workers, businesses and communities. USMCA will preserve and strengthen trade that supports over 12 million American jobs. Business Roundtable thanks the Administration and members of Congress for their bipartisan efforts to bring USMCA across the finish line.”
Lance Fritz, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Pacific: “Business Roundtable and its CEO members look forward to working closely with policymakers to ensure that USMCA implementation strengthens North American competitiveness. With one in five American jobs depending on trade, we urge the Administration to work with Congress and our allies to further open markets and remove barriers to trade and investment to benefit all Americans and provide a boost to the U.S. economy.”
