Technology Business Roundtable Urges Congressional Passage of Bipartisan Legislation to Fully Fund CHIPS for America Act

Jul 19, 2022

Washington – Business Roundtable CEO Joshua Bolten today issued the following statement urging congressional passage of bipartisan legislation to fully fund the CHIPS for America Act:

“Business Roundtable urges Congress to pass as soon as possible bipartisan legislation that fully funds the CHIPS for America Act, which will help to sustain U.S. economic growth and competitiveness. Revitalizing U.S. semiconductor manufacturing is also key to America's national security.
“Companies are making decisions now about where to invest in new plants and expand existing facilities to produce chips. Without strong U.S. leadership, these investments will go elsewhere—undermining the supply chain of U.S. companies and the potential for job growth in advanced manufacturing here at home. Bipartisan legislation that fully funds CHIPS is critically important to American manufacturing and jobs and will help to ensure continued U.S. leadership in global innovation in advanced technologies.
“We continue to work with Congress on additional bipartisan priorities, such as R&D expensing and passing the INFORM Consumers Act, that will strengthen our economy and sustain long-term growth.”
