Immigration Business Roundtable Urges Lawmakers to Pass Farm Workforce Modernization Act

Mar 18, 2021

Washington – Business Roundtable Immigration Committee Chair Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer of Apple, today issued the following statement urging lawmakers to pass the Farm Workforce Modernization Act:

“Helping temporary workers with critical and in-demand skills contribute to the American marketplace of ideas and workforce should be a key component of reforming the U.S. immigration system,” said Cook. “Good ideas come from all corners, and all Americans benefit when domestic companies can meet critical needs and fuel U.S. economic growth. This is true across industries, and certainly in the agriculture industry. We urge Members on both sides of the aisle to vote in support of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act as a solution to this pressing challenge.
“In addition to this legislation, Business Roundtable continues to urge policymakers to prioritize other bipartisan and practical solutions to fix our broken immigration system, enforce the rule of law and respond to the pressing challenges we face.”
