Business Roundtable Welcomes Passage of Legislation Averting Nationwide Rail Shutdown
December 1, 2022
Washington - Business Roundtable CEO Joshua Bolten today released the following statement on Senate passage of the Tentative Agreement to prevent a railroad strike:
“Business Roundtable commends the Administration and Congress for taking swift, bipartisan action to keep America’s freight rail operations up and running. A rail shutdown would have cost our slowing economy $2 billion a day, inflicting severe pain on American businesses, workers, families and consumers. The effects of a strike were expected to begin over the weekend, and we applaud both parties for working across the aisle to head off these devastating consequences.”
