David Mussafer is Chairman and Managing Partner of Advent International, LP, one of the world’s leading global private equity firms with more than $66 billion in assets under management. David serves on Advent’s Global Executive Committee and serves on the firm’s regional private equity investment committees, in addition to Advent’s public equity fund, Advent Global Opportunities.
David has more than 30 years of investment experience and led more than 25 buyouts across a range of industries, including the financial services, healthcare, and retail and consumer sectors. David currently serves on the boards of lululemon (lead director) and Olaplex.
With 15 offices across the world, Advent invests in companies across a variety of industries in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Some of the firm’s most noteworthy investments include lululemon, Culligan Water, Walmart Brazil (now “Grupo Big),” GE Distributed Power (now “Innio”), Sanofi European generics business (now “Zentiva”), Cobham Aerospace, Thyssenkrupp Elevators, and Thrasio.
David received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University and earned his Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. David also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at Tulane University.
