Simultaneously increasing production of oil and natural gas, enhancing efficiency and boosting alternatives are all key components of a sound energy policy and are consistent with the comprehensive approach Business Roundtable has long advocated.

While the deepwater drilling moratorium officially has been lifted, a de facto moratorium still exists, a fact duly noted by Judge Feldman, who ordered the Department to make a final decision on five pending drilling permits within 30 days of his ruling.

We fully support investments in renewables, and believe alternative sources are a vital part of the balanced approach we need to simultaneously address our energy, environmental and economic needs. However, now is not the time to be targeting any industry with job-destroying taxes.
