Washington – Business Roundtable (BRT) Chairman Jim McNerney, Chairman, President & CEO of The Boeing Company, announced today the selection of ExxonMobil Chairman & CEO, Rex Tillerson, as chair of BRT’s newly formed Education and Workforce Committee. As the successor to BRT’s Education, Innovation and Workforce Initiative, the Committee will bring the experience and expertise of America’s top CEOs to education and workforce development policy in Washington, DC.

“Boosting the education and skills of American workers is the key to future U.S. economic competitiveness,” said McNerney. “With his strong record of leadership in support of U.S. math and science education, Rex Tillerson is the right choice to serve as the voice of the BRT on education and workforce issues.”

“Business Roundtable has been a champion of evidence-based education reform, college and career readiness and effective workforce training,” said Tillerson. “I am excited about working with other Business Roundtable CEOs to promote pragmatic, effective reform that will deliver results for U.S. students. I am committed to policies that will raise student achievement and better prepare American workers to compete and win in the global economy.”
