Infrastructure Business Roundtable Commends Senate Committee Passage of Federal Permitting Reform and Jobs Act

Jul 24, 2019

Washington – Business Roundtable today released the following statement regarding passage of S. 1976 – the Federal Permitting Reform and Jobs Act – in the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs.

“Business Roundtable applauds members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs for passing the Federal Permitting Reform and Jobs Act, which will build on improvements made in federal permitting process for infrastructure projects and contribute to America’s economic competitiveness. For years, onerous permitting processes and regulations have stood in the way of infrastructure improvements American families and communities need. We thank U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) for his leadership on this bill – which will help unlock investment for and speed development of infrastructure projects while meeting important environmental, safety and other standards – and urge Congress and the Administration to work together to enact it into law.”
