The panel will explore how policymakers can improve the nation’s workforce development system to better prepare workers for in-demand careers and strengthen U.S. competitiveness. This includes how federal policy can empower states to structure workforce systems that meet their economic needs and deliver for workers, promote high-quality employer-driven training programs, and give workers more freedom and flexibility to the training they need for fulfilling careers. The panel will also discuss how corporate- led workforce initiatives can inform — and benefit from — policy reforms.
