Key Themes

Discussions will explore the following key themes:

AI’s Impact on the Workforce: Understanding the Data. What does the evidence show about how AI is reshaping the U.S. labor market — and what investments, public and private, are most likely to support workers’ upward mobility? Two leading economic researchers will examine the latest data, followed by a bipartisan policy conversation on the approaches most likely to expand opportunity for workers navigating career transitions amid rapid technological change.

AI and the Future of Work. Employers are leading workforce development for an AI-driven economy, investing in new approaches to skills and career pathways and scaling what works. This session will explore how companies are investing in their workforces — what new skills workers are building, how companies are creating pathways to support them and how technological change can expand opportunity rather than limit it.

Workforce Policy Innovations: What’s Next? This session will bring together bipartisan lawmakers to examine the government’s role in supporting workers through the AI transition. What policy innovations are needed to expand opportunity, support career mobility and ensure workers can benefit from the technological change from the rise of AI?

Investing in Advancement: Companies Are Supporting Worker Mobility. Leading companies are moving beyond employee benefits as a checklist and building cultures where investment in workers is a core business strategy — one measured not just by what companies offer, but by whether workers are advancing. This session will examine how Business Roundtable CEOs are investing in the pathways that drive upward mobility — from reskilling and work-based learning to the cultural conditions that determine whether those investments stick and produce lasting opportunity.
